Summary0000062: Ascend should only allow a single instance
DescriptionIf a second instance is launched, it should pass on commands to an already-running instance, rather than creating a whoel new one; unless there's a good reason to mave multiple instances?

Moving to release 1.0. ASCEND Tcl/Tk doesn't really respond to any command line arguments, so it's actually OK for it to have multiple instances. An MDI-type application shouldn't create multiple instances but we should live with this for now.

traditional approaches to combinatorial optimization are a good enough
reason. interfaces other than the tickle interface are free to make
alternate assumptions about user desires.

note also, an independent piece of start-wrapper code could (for the windows users)
be provided which polls something (god knows what) for an existing
ascend tickle instance and, if found, use the tcl 'send' mechanism
to cause the existing app to handle the new file being double-clicked,
else launch app and load the file (again with send).

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that the Tcl/Tk interface doesn't really have command-line parameters, eg for opening script or model files. That's true, isn't it?
